About Idaea costaria (Walker)

Idaea costaria, scientifically named Idaea costaria (Walker), is a moth species belonging to the family Geometridae. It is native to south-eastern Australia. Externally, this species is extremely similar to Idaea inversata, but it can be distinguished by its two-coloured head pattern, which I. inversata does not have. Specifically, Idaea costaria has a creamy-white patch located between its antennae, while the same area on Idaea inversata is entirely dark reddish.
