About Ictinogomphus rapax (Rambur, 1842)
Ictinogomphus rapax is a large dragonfly with a yellow and black coloration and bluish-grey eyes. Its black thorax is marked with yellow or greenish-yellow stripes, and its black abdomen features bright yellow marks. There is a leaf-like expansion on both sides of the eighth abdominal segment. This species typically perches on bare twigs facing bodies of water. It is commonly found in ponds, tanks, and rivers, and breeds in both running and still water.
