About Ictinogomphus decoratus (Selys, 1854)

Ictinogomphus decoratus, commonly called the common flangetail, is a species of clubtail dragonfly native to Southeast Asia. Two subspecies of Ictinogomphus decoratus are currently recognized. The first, I. d. decoratus, is found on the Indonesian islands of Sumatra and Java. The second subspecies, I. d. melaenops, occurs across a range that extends from Borneo and the Philippines north to Thailand. This species is classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.
