About Icaricia saepiolus

Icaricia saepiolus, commonly known as the greenish blue, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Lycaenidae. Its range extends from the northwestern United States north to southern Saskatchewan and southern Alberta in Canada. This species has a wingspan measuring 21 to 28 millimeters. Adult Icaricia saepiolus butterflies are active in flight from June to August each year. The larvae of this butterfly feed exclusively on three species of clover: Trifolium monathum, Trifolium longipes, and Trifolium wormskioldii.
