About Hypoxis mexicana Schult. & Schult.f.

Hypoxis mexicana Schult. & Schult.f., commonly known as Mexican yellow star-grass, is a small herbaceous plant species. It is widespread across most of Mexico, and has also been recorded growing in southern Arizona. This plant grows in open forests and woodlands. It produces a tuft of leaves, with long bristles located near the base of the plant. Its flowers are yellow, 6-parted, and arranged in a panicle at the top of the flowering stalk.
