About Hypoxis juncea Sm.
Hypoxis juncea Sm. is commonly called fringed yellow star-grass and rushy hypoxis. This star-grass species has extremely narrow leaves that are comparable to thread. Despite including "grass" in its common name, it is not a true grass. It grows in the United States, on coastal plains ranging from Florida and Alabama to North Carolina. The species is a facultative wetland perennial forb.
