About Hypochaeris sessiliflora Kunth

Hypochaeris sessiliflora Kunth, commonly known as chikku chikku, is a South American plant species belonging to the family Asteraceae. It is a terrestrial herb that grows from high Andean forests up to high-altitude páramo, at elevations between 2,500 and 4,500 m. It is a small plant that rarely grows more than 13 cm tall. Its flowers are usually yellow or white, and are rarely purple or orange. Each flower head contains approximately 25 ray flowers and no disc flowers. This species is found in the South American countries of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, and Bolivia.
