About Hypenula cacuminalis Walker, 1859
Hypenula cacuminalis, commonly called the long-horned owlet moth, is a moth species that belongs to the family Erebidae. Francis Walker first described this species in 1859. Its distribution ranges across the southeastern United States, extending west to Texas and Arizona. The forewings of this moth measure between 13 and 14 millimeters in length. In most areas, adult moths are primarily active on the wing between May and August. However, in Florida, adults have been recorded flying at any time from January through November. In the southern portion of this species' range, there are multiple generations of the moth each year.
