About Hypena obsitalis (Hübner)
Hypena obsitalis (Hübner) has a wingspan of 28 to 36 mm. For wing coloration, the forewing is whitish in females and grey in males. Both sexes have forewings that are more or less suffused with grey and fuscous, and covered in dark transverse striae. The forewing lines are waved, dark, and have pale edges. The outer line bends shortly outwards on each fold and inwards on vein 2, and is followed on the costal half by a grey patch in males and a white patch in females. There is a pale triangular apical patch on the forewing, edged below by a dark oblique shade extending from the apex that contains three black teeth. The submarginal line is pale and wavy, preceded on the costal half by black teeth. The stigmata are marked by tufts of raised dark scales. A row of black dashes runs along the forewing termen. The fringe is shining grey with a dark middle line. All pale areas on the wings are more intense in females. The hindwing is fuscous with a black terminal line.
