Hypanartia paullus, commonly known as the Antillean mapwing, is a butterfly species that belongs to the family Nymphalidae. This species can be found in Jamaica, Cuba, Hispaniola, and Puerto Rico. It inhabits a wide range of wooded habitats, ranging from sea level up to 1,900 meters in elevation. The forewings of adult Hypanartia paullus measure approximately 29 mm in length. Adult butterflies are active and on wing throughout the entire year, with the peak of their flight period falling between June and August. The larvae of this species feed on Trema micrantha and plants from the Piper genus.
