About Hymenopappus tenuifolius Pursh

Hymenopappus tenuifolius, commonly known as Chalk Hill hymenopappus, is a North American flowering plant species belonging to the daisy family. It grows in the central and southeastern United States, where it is primarily found on the Great Plains, ranging from Texas and New Mexico northward to South Dakota. This species is a biennial herb that can grow up to 150 cm (5 feet) tall. Each stem of Hymenopappus tenuifolius produces 20 to 200 flower heads; each individual head contains 25 to 50 white disc flowers and has no ray flowers.
