About Hygrocybe astatogala (R.Heim) Heinem.

Hygrocybe astatogala (R.Heim) Heinem. is a mushroom species belonging to the waxcap genus Hygrocybe. Its type locality is Madagascar, and it has also been recorded in Australia, Central Africa, the Philippines, and New Zealand. French mycologist Roger Heim first scientifically described this species in 1936 under the name Bertrandia astatogala. Paul Heinemann transferred the species to the genus Hygrocybe in 1963.
