About Hyacinthoides lingulata (Poir.) Rothm.
Hyacinthoides lingulata (Poir.) Rothm. is a bulbous plant species native to North Africa, ranging from Morocco to Tunisia. It grows widely in short grass and agricultural fields, and flowers in autumn at the start of the rainy season. Its flowers are typically paler in color than those of the common bluebell, Hyacinthoides non-scripta, but share a similar scent. The leaves of Hyacinthoides lingulata are not fully hardy. In the British Isles, this species is most often cultivated under glass. In cultivation, it needs a dry dormant period over summer, with watering starting in early September and continuing until the plant dies back in May.
