Houstonia rubra Cav., commonly known as the red bluet, is a plant species that belongs to the Rubiaceae family. It is a small herb that produces flowers in shades ranging from white and pink to red and reddish-purple. This species is native to the southwestern United States (including Arizona, New Mexico, southeastern Utah, and western Texas) and northern and central Mexico, specifically the states of Coahuila, Nuevo León, Hidalgo, Zacatecas, Guanajuato, Puebla, Sonora, Durango, and Chihuahua.
