This plant species is native to the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, and the U.S. states of Texas and New Mexico. It is an herb that grows up to 20 centimeters tall. It bears narrow, needle-like leaves, and produces white or purplish flowers.
