About Homophron spadiceum (P.Kumm.) Örstadius & E.Larss.
This fungus, Homophron spadiceum, has a brown cap that can grow up to 7 centimetres (2+3⁄4 inches) wide. Its gills are tan to brown in color and are spaced very closely together. The stem reaches a maximum length of 8 cm and a maximum thickness of 1 cm. It produces a pinkish-brown spore print. Outside of its own genus, it can look similar to species belonging to the genus Hebeloma.
In terms of habitat and distribution, Homophron spadiceum grows near the base of hardwood trees. Within North America, it occurs in the Pacific Northwest, northern California, and eastern parts of the continent. It can also be found in Europe. This mushroom is edible.
