About Hieracium fendleri Sch.Bip.

Hieracium fendleri Sch.Bip. is a North American plant species belonging to the tribe Cichorieae of the family Asteraceae. It is widely distributed across much of western North America, ranging from the Black Hills of Wyoming and South Dakota in the north, all the way south to Guatemala. It is a herb that grows up to 40 cm (16 inches) tall, with most of its leaves arranged in a rosette at the base of the plant. Individual leaves can reach up to 70 mm (2.8 inches) in length, and sometimes have small teeth along their edges. Each flowering stem produces 2 to 5 flower heads arranged in a flat-topped cluster. Every flower head contains 15 to 30 pale yellow ray flowers, and does not have any disc flowers.
