Hibiscus surattensis, commonly called bush sorrel or wild sour, is a widespread flowering plant species belonging to the Malvaceae family. It is native to seasonally dry tropical and subtropical regions of the Old World, and has been introduced to many islands in the Indian Ocean. As its common names suggest, local peoples eat this plant as a leafy green.
