About Heterotheca pumila (Greene) Semple

Heterotheca pumila, commonly known as the alpine goldenaster, is a North American flowering plant species belonging to the family Asteraceae. It grows in alpine and subalpine mountain regions of the western United States, and has been recorded in the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico. It typically grows to around 15 inches in height, and blooms from July through September. In appearance, it produces multiple yellow flowers atop a rounded mound of green-gray leaves. It is known to have a strongly pungent odor.
