About Heterispa vinula (Erichson, 1847)
Heterispa vinula (Erichson, 1847) has the following morphological characteristics. The vertex is smooth and opaque. The interocular space is extended, with an angular apex. The antennae are slightly longer than one-third of the body length, filiform in shape, and only very slightly thickened toward the apex. The thorax is transverse; its sides are straight and parallel to the midpoint, then run obliquely inward toward the apex. The apical angle of the thorax is not extended. The upper surface of the thorax is transversely convex, broadly depressed across the posterior disc, opaque, and closely colored dull fulvous. The lateral margin, a broad discoidal vitta (which is sometimes shortened anteriorly), and the apical margin of the thorax are all black. The scutellum is also black. The elytra are parallel-sided and rounded at the apex. The lateral margin of the elytra is faintly serrulate, while the apical margin is rather coarsely serrate, and the apical teeth are sometimes spaced irregularly along the margin. Each elytron has ten rows of punctures, with an extra puncture row at the extreme base bringing the count to eleven. The second interspace between puncture rows is strongly costate. The apex of the fourth interspace, the base of the sixth interspace, and the entire eighth interspace are weakly raised.
