Adults of Herona marathus Doubleday, 1848 are dark brown on their upper side. Both the forewings and hindwings have two yellow or white discal bands. A basal streak is present in vein 1b of the forewing. On the underside of the forewing, vein 5 has a white streak that runs through its outer half all the way to the termen.
