About Herminia grisealis (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775

Herminia grisealis (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775 has a wingspan of 24–28 mm, and forewings that measure 11–13 mm in length. This species has greyish brown wings crossed by three darker lines. The uppermost and lowermost of these lines are straight or slightly curved, while the middle line is undulating. For technical details: the forewing is grey brown, often with a yellow tinge. Its lines are dark brown. The inner line is straight, oblique, and thick. The subterminal line is thick, concave outwards, and curves into the apex. The outer line is fine and sickle shaped. A short dark line appears at the end of the cell. The hindwing is quite pale grey, with obscure outer and subterminal lines.
