Heptapleurum heptaphyllum (L.) Y.F.Deng is a flowering plant species that belongs to the Araliaceae family. It is native to southern China, Indo-China, and Japan. Carl Linnaeus first described this species in 1771 under the name Vitis heptaphylla. Schefflera rubriflora was listed as critically endangered on the 2004 IUCN Red List, where it was considered to be endemic to Yunnan, China. As of January 2023, Schefflera rubriflora is treated as a part of the much more widely distributed Heptapleurum heptaphyllum.
