About Hemihyalea labecula Grote, 1881
Pseudohemihyalea labecula, commonly called the freckled glassy-wing, is a species of moth belonging to the family Erebidae. This species was first described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote in 1881. It is distributed in the United States, where it occurs in southern Nevada, Utah, and the range extending from Colorado to Arizona, New Mexico, and western Texas. The forewings of this moth measure between 21 and 29 millimeters in length. Adult moths are active in flight from July through early September. The larvae are thought to feed on plant species from the Quercus genus.
