About Heliophanus flavipes (Hahn, 1832)

Heliophanus flavipes is a species of jumping spider that belongs to the genus Heliophanus. It has a wide distribution that falls across the Palearctic region. Confirmed locations where this species has been recorded include Europe, Turkey, the Caucasus, Russia (ranging from European Russia to South Siberia), Kazakhstan, Iran, Central Asia, and China. In Europe specifically, it can be found from the British Isles and Scandinavia in the north all the way to Mediterranean countries in the south. In China, Heliophanus flavipes has been recorded in the region of Xinjiang. This spider typically lives in sunny, open habitats, such as gardens, fields, hedgerows, and woodland clearings. Like the related species Heliophanus cupreus, Heliophanus flavipes is most often found on or at the base of low vegetation in a variety of different environments.
