Heliophanus auratus C.L.Koch, 1835 is a small jumping spider. It displays clear sexual dimorphism in both body coloration and size patterns. This species has been recorded in Europe, Turkey, the Caucasus, Russia (ranging from European Russia to South Siberia), Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and China. It lives in a variety of different habitats. Fully mature adult males and females of the species can be found together on vegetation on sunny slopes during the month of May.
