Heliomeris multiflora Nutt. is a North American flowering plant species in the Asteraceae family, commonly known as showy goldeneye. It is native to Mexico and the western United States, ranging from Montana south to Jalisco. This is a perennial herb that grows up to 15 cm (5.9 in) tall and has a large taproot. Its leaves can reach up to 16 cm (6.3 in) in length, and have hairs along their edges. A single individual plant can produce 25 or more yellow flower heads. Each flower head holds 12 to 14 ray flowers, which surround 50 or more tiny disc flowers. Three varieties of this species are recognized with distinct ranges: Heliomeris multiflora var. brevifolia (Greene ex Wooton & Standl.) grows in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah; Heliomeris multiflora var. multiflora ranges from Idaho and Montana south to Durango; Heliomeris multiflora var. nevadensis (A.Nelson) W.F.Yates grows from California east to Utah and south to Jalisco.
