Helianthus radula, commonly called rayless sunflower or pineland sunflower, is a North American sunflower species. It is native to the southeastern United States, ranging from eastern Louisiana to South Carolina. This species grows in sandy open woodlands, including pine barrens. It is a perennial herb that reaches up to 100 cm (40 inches) in height. A single plant typically produces only one flower head, which holds 0 to 8 yellow ray florets. These ray florets surround up to 150 or more yellow or brown disc florets.
