About Harkenclenus titus (Fabricius, 1793)
This species, the tailless hairstreak Harkenclenus titus (Fabricius, 1793), has brownish gray coloration on the upper side of its wings. The underside of its hindwing features a distinct row of red-orange spots running along the outer margin, but does not have the blue spot that is present in most other hairstreak species. This butterfly lives in a preferred range of habitats including brushy areas, thickets, overgrown fields, open woodlands, and streamsides.
