Haplophyton crooksii is a plant species native to Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and northern Mexico. It is an herb that grows up to 60 centimeters tall, and bears showy yellow flowers. This species grows on rocky slopes in desert scrub and desert grassland habitats. It is commonly known as the cockroach plant, or hierba de la cucaracha, a name that refers to its insecticidal properties.
