About Hamanumida daedalus Fabricius, 1775
Hamanumida daedalus, first described by Fabricius in 1775, has a wingspan of 55–65 mm for males and 60–78 mm for females. Adult moths are active year-round, with flight peaks in midwinter and summer. This species occurs across the Afrotropical realm, including Natal, Eswatini, Transvaal, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, dry lowland areas of tropical Africa, and southwest Arabia. Its larvae feed on plant species from the genera Combretum and Terminalia.
