Haemanthus deformis Hook.f. is a perennial flowering geophyte that belongs to the genus Haemanthus in the Amaryllidaceae family. This species is endemic to South Africa’s Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal, where it occurs in the area ranging from Umtata to Durban. It grows exclusively in coastal forests, and is currently threatened by the traditional medicine industry.
