About Hadena magnolii Boisduval, 1829
According to Warren, Hadena magnolii Bdv. (= nummosa Er., conspurcata H. Sch. ?) (18 e) has the following physical features. Its forewings are olive fuscous, with a slight purplish tinge, and are dusted with white. The lines on the forewings are black, with bluish-white edging. The claviform stigma matches the ground color and has a black edge. The orbicular is round, has a distinct white ring, and is clearly defined. The reniform is less distinct, with partial white edging. The hindwings are fuscous, paler closer to the base, and marked with a dark cellspot and an outer line. This species occurs in Portugal, Southern France, Italy, Switzerland, Dalmatia, Austria, Russia, Armenia, Asia Minor, and Western Turkestan. The larva is greyish yellow, darker along the sides. It has a dark brown, geminate dorsal line, dark subdorsal stripes, and a pale lateral line. Its head is yellow brown, and it feeds on Silene nutans.
