About Hadena albimacula Borkhausen, 1792

Technical description and variation: The wingspan of Hadena albimacula Borkhausen, 1792 is 30–38 mm. Forewings are olive brown; the lines are black, faintly marked with white scales. The claviform stigma matches the ground color, is edged with black at its end, and followed by a quadrate white blotch. The orbicular stigma is round and white with a faint grey center. The reniform stigma is edged internally with white; both stigmata are outlined in black. Small white blotches sit beyond the orbicular stigma and between veins 2 and 3 at the base. There is a whitish blotch at the base of the costa and a white costal spot above the orbicular stigma. Hindwings are dark fuscous; the basal half is greyer, with darker veins. The larva is brownish ochreous. The dorsal line is fine and indistinct, marked by blackish spots that connect the subdorsal oblique stripes. The lateral lines are pale grey, and the spiracles are white ringed with black.
