Habenaria repens Nutt., commonly known as the water-spider bog orchid or the floating orchid, is a species of orchid. It has a widespread distribution across Latin America, ranging from Mexico and the West Indies south to Argentina. It also grows in the Southeastern United States, from Texas and Oklahoma east to Florida and the Carolinas, with an additional isolated population located in Virginia. A phenolic compound named habenariol is present in Habenaria repens, where it functions as a feeding deterrent.
