About Gyros muiri Edwards, 1881

Gyros muiri (also cited as Gyros muirii) is a species of moth belonging to the family Crambidae. It was originally described by Henry Edwards in 1881. This moth is found in North America, with recorded occurrences in California, Oregon, and Washington. Its wingspan measures approximately 13 mm. The forewings are dull orange, flecked with blackish scales, and the base of the forewings shades into deep brown. A blackish cloud is present in the central area of the forewing, and the posterior margin of the forewing is also blackish. The hindwings are a lighter shade of orange than the forewings, with a narrow, regular marginal border. Adult moths have been recorded in flight from March through July.
