About Gynacantha rosenbergi Kaup, 1867

Gynacantha rosenbergi, first described by Kaup in 1867, is a large dragonfly. It reaches an approximate overall length of 85 mm and has a wingspan of around 119 mm, with distinct striking coloration. Its abdomen is dark rusty brown with greenish-yellow markings, while its thorax is pale green. When viewed from above, the frons in front of the eyes bears a dark marking shaped like the letter 'T'.

In Australia, it has been recorded from coastal north-east Queensland, north of approximately the area around Townsville.
