Gymnoconia nitens (Schwein.) F.Kern & Thurst. is a species of rust fungus that belongs to the Phragmidiaceae family. It acts as a plant pathogen, and is responsible for causing orange rust disease on a variety of berry plants. This species was first formally described in 1822 by mycologist Lewis David de Schweinitz, under the original name Aecidium luminatum.
