About Grewia hexamita Burret

Grewia hexamita, commonly known as the giant raisin, is a species of flowering plant in the family Malvaceae. It is native to Mozambique and neighboring countries. As a member of the Grewia genus, it is a large tree, growing to 5 m (16 ft) tall. Grewia hexamita is the most preferred woody plant of African savanna elephants (Loxodonta africana), which browse on it in all seasons. This preference extends even to other species in the Grewia genus.
