About Gossia gonoclada (F.Muell. ex Benth.) N.Snow & Guymer

Gossia gonoclada is a tree that may reach up to 18 metres (59 ft) in height. It has angled branchlets with four raised corners. New growth on branchlets is flushed pink, while mature leaves are dark green and glossy on the upper surface, and duller and paler on the lower surface. Crushed leaves produce a distinct scent. The tree’s bark is pale brown. Its white flowers are 6–9 mm in diameter, with 4–5 petals, and flowering occurs from October to November. The fruits are glossy berries 7–12 mm in diameter that ripen to black, ripening from mid-January to February. This species is only known to grow in remnant lowland riparian rainforest between the Logan and Brisbane Rivers.
