Most of its leaves are located at the base of the plant, and are roughly round to egg-shaped with the narrow end toward the base. They measure 8โ20 mm (0.31โ0.79 in) in length and 5โ20 mm (0.20โ0.79 in) in width, with toothed, sometimes wavy edges. Its flowers are arranged in racemes up to 300 mm (12 in) long, growing on an 8โ23 mm (0.31โ0.91 in) long peduncle with leaf-like bracts. Each individual flower sits on a pedicel up to 2 mm (0.079 in) long, with linear bracteoles around 5 mm (0.20 in) long. The sepals are linear to lance-shaped, 5โ7.5 mm (0.20โ0.30 in) long, and the petals are yellow, 12โ16 mm (0.47โ0.63 in) long. The lower lobes of the corolla are 5โ6 mm (0.20โ0.24 in) long, with wings 0.8โ1.5 mm (0.031โ0.059 in) wide. Flowering occurs mainly from September to May, and the fruit is a roughly spherical capsule 5โ7 mm (0.20โ0.28 in) in diameter. This goodenia grows in woodland and forest on coastal areas and tablelands, ranging from southern Queensland to the Hunter Valley in New South Wales.
