About Goodenia robusta (Benth.) K.Krause
Goodenia robusta (Benth.) K.Krause is an erect to ascending perennial herb that typically reaches a maximum height of 40 cm (16 in). Its basal leaves are hairy, crowded, and elliptic to narrow oblong in shape, measuring 40โ120 mm (1.6โ4.7 in) long and 8โ20 mm (0.31โ0.79 in) wide, and they often have wavy edges. The species' flowers are arranged in racemes that grow up to 250 mm (9.8 in) long, with leaf-like bracts present along the racemes. Each individual flower forms on a pedicel 15โ50 mm (0.59โ1.97 in) long. The sepals of this species are lance-shaped and approximately 5 mm (0.20 in) long, while the corolla is yellow and measures about 15 mm (0.59 in) long. The lower lobes of the corolla are 5โ6 mm (0.20โ0.24 in) long, with wings that are about 2 mm (0.079 in) wide. Flowering of Goodenia robusta occurs mainly from September to January, and its fruit is an elliptic capsule about 10 mm (0.39 in) long. This species grows in mallee and woodland habitats, found in the south-east of South Australia and in the Little and Big Deserts of Victoria.
