About Goodenia glabra R.Br.
Goodenia glabra R.Br. is a prostrate to low-lying herb with stems reaching up to 30 cm (12 in) long. Basal leaves are narrow oblong to egg-shaped, with the narrower end at the base, and measure 30โ90 mm (1.2โ3.5 in) long and 7โ11 mm (0.28โ0.43 in) wide, with lobed or wavy edges. Leaves growing on the stems are smaller but broader than the basal leaves. Flowers are arranged in racemes up to 250 mm (9.8 in) long, borne on a peduncle 8โ15 mm (0.31โ0.59 in) long, with leaf-like bracts at the base of each raceme. Each individual flower sits on a pedicel 8โ20 mm (0.31โ0.79 in) long, with linear bracteoles around 3 mm (0.12 in) long. The sepals are linear to lance-shaped, 3โ4 mm (0.12โ0.16 in) long. The petals are yellow with purplish markings, and measure 10โ18 mm (0.39โ0.71 in) long. The lower lobes of the corolla are 3โ6.5 mm (0.12โ0.26 in) long, with wings 1.5โ2.5 mm (0.059โ0.098 in) wide. Flowering occurs in most months of the year, and the fruit is an oval capsule 7โ10 mm (0.28โ0.39 in) long. This species grows in the drier inland regions of Western Australia, South Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland, and New South Wales.
