About Gomphidia kodaguensis Fraser, 1923
Gomphidia kodaguensis Fraser, 1923 is a large dragonfly with bottle-green eyes. Its thorax is black with yellow markings: it has two broad, oval greenish-yellow dorsal stripes that are pointed at the bottom and do not nearly reach the mesothoracic collar. Each side of the thorax has two broad yellow stripes separated by a broad black stripe. Its abdomen is black with yellow markings: Segment 1 has a fine apical dorsal ring; Segment 2 has a small oval dorsal spot covering its basal two-thirds; Segments 3 through 6 each have a dorsal basal spot; Segment 7 has yellow on its basal half; Segment 8 has a long transverse basal spot; Segment 9 has no markings; Segment 10 has a dorsal spot that covers its entire dorsum. Its anal appendages are black. Females have the same appearance as males. This species is commonly found in streams and rivers located in hilly and mountainous areas.
