Gnaphalium uliginosum L. is a very woolly annual herb that grows 4 to 20 centimeters tall. Its leaves are woolly on both sides, measuring 1 to 5 centimeters long, and have a narrow oblong shape. The flower heads of this species are 3 to 4 millimeters long, arranged in clusters of 3 to 10, and surrounded by long leaves. The bracts of the flower heads are woolly and pale on the lower section, with dark, chaffy, hairless tips. The florets are brownish yellow, and the stigmas are pale. This species flowers from July through September.
