Glyphodes caesalis is a species of moth belonging to the family Crambidae. It was first described by Francis Walker in 1859. This moth can be found in Sri Lanka, mainland India, Myanmar, the Andaman Islands, New Guinea, Bangladesh, Fiji, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Queensland, Australia. The larvae of Glyphodes caesalis feed on multiple species in the plant family Moraceae, including Artocarpus rigida, Ficus carica, Artocarpus elastica, and Artocarpus heterophyllus. The species is sometimes known by the common name jackfruit shoot and fruit borer. It has occasionally been classified in the genus Diaphania, which is a genus that holds more species in the Neotropics, whose members mainly feed on host plants from the Cucurbitaceae family.
