About Gladicosa gulosa (Walckenaer, 1837)
Gladicosa gulosa, commonly known as the drumming sword wolf spider, is a species of wolf spider. One of its habitats is the Beech-Maple forests of the United States and Canada, where it can be found in the ground, herb, or shrub plant strata. This spider is nocturnal, meaning it is active at night and hides during the day. It does not make any webs or shelters of any kind, and hides under leaves during daytime hours. The female carries its eggs in a spherical egg sac until the eggs hatch. After hatching, the spiderlings may ride on the female's body until they are able to survive on their own.
