This species has the scientific name Gibbaranea gibbosa (Walckenaer, 1802). Females of this species can reach a maximum body length of 7mm. Individuals of both sexes have brown and green markings, as well as tubercles on their abdomens. This species is distributed across Europe, the Caucasus, and selected parts of the Middle East and North Africa. It inhabits trees and bushes in woodland areas and hedgerows, where it hides among leaves and can be hard to spot. It prefers evergreen shrubs as its habitat.
