About Gentiana scabra Bunge
Gentiana scabra Bunge, commonly called the Japanese gentian or the Rindō Flower, is a species of flowering plant in the Gentian family, Gentianaceae. It grows across much of East Asia. Its flowers, which bloom in mid-summer and autumn, are blue or dark blue. In traditional Chinese medicine, the roots of Gentiana scabra are used as a bitter tonic; it is claimed to promote digestive secretions and treat a variety of liver-related illnesses. This species is also used in traditional Tibetan medicine.
