About Gennaria diphylla (Link) Parl.
Gennaria diphylla (Link) Parl. grows a stem 15 to 30 cm tall that bears exactly two leaves. The lower leaf is larger, measuring 4 to 7 cm long and 2.5 to 7 cm wide, while the upper leaf is noticeably smaller. Both leaves have an elliptical or ovate shape, with rounded lobes at the base that give the leaf a heart-shaped outline. This species produces yellowish-green, bell-shaped flowers arranged in a spike that can reach up to 10 cm long. Its labellum (lip) has three lobes, with the middle lobe being slightly longer than the other two, and a spur is present.
